The Electron Server is a high - performance Web Server with a Plug-in Framework.
Electron Server allows software developers to leverage their code base in a straightforward way. Electron Server's plug-in framework makes it easy to plug in in-house and third-party business source code assets in a software developer's native environment (Borland C++, Delphi, Javascript, Flash, PHP, etc.). It does so in a natural, intuitive "application programming" style so that the software developer is already familiar with how to write an Electron Server plug-in. In fact, if you know how to program a function (with inputs and outputs) then you already know how to write an Electron Server Plug-in. It doesn't get much easier than that!
The 2008 1st Quarter release of Electron Server will support C++ and DELPHI software developers within the Borland C++ Builder, Borland Delphi and Codegear RAD Studio community. Get Started Now!
The 2008 3rd Quarter release of Electron Server will support the JAVASCRIPT community with a new native Win32 compiler which will compile Javascript into native executable code on the server, for optimal performance.
The 2008 4th Quarter release of Electron Server will support the Adobe FLASH community with enhanced Flash-aware modules to provide complex web-programming scenarios "on-tap".
The 2009 1st Quarter release of Electron Server will support the PHP community with a built-in PHP engine.
An SSL Plug-in will be released in 2008 1st Quarter. Other plug-ins to be released in the future are an Asset Manager, Auction Module, Poll Module, Advertising Module, Object-oriented Database Module and a Game Server Module. We also have plans to support RemObjects products in the near future. Watch this space for more announcements.
The Core Electron Server engine will be available as a stand-alone executable for development and debugging purposes, as well as a windows service for fully automated deployment.
The core product ships with one "File Server" plug-in that handles the serving of all files (html, jpg, gif, swf, etc.) that originate from the hard-disk. The core product also ships with three sample database plug-ins (source-included) to show developers how to write a database plug-in for any desired back-end db platform.
Also available as a beta is StreamSec's SSL Plug-in for Electron Server.
For Delphi and C++Builder developers, go to the GETTING STARTED section and click on the "Installation" menu.
The Electron Server SKUs are divided into the number of domains supported by the web server:
3 Domains License: $100
10 Domains License: $125
50 Domains License: $150
100 Domains License: $200
StreamSec has provided an SSL module for ElectronServer! RemObjects support coming soon!
